Gun Myths Debunked: Shotguns in the Movies

You see this all the time in the movies... someone gets shot and goes FLYING BACKWARDS.

Today, Kevin Michalowski debunks one of the most popular gun myths: the body-moving power of a shotgun.

The laws of physics tell us that for every action there must be an equal and opposite reaction. So if the person shot by the shotgun goes flying backwards, the person holding the shotgun should go flying backwards as well.

This isn't to say that a shotgun isn't a powerful tool - you WILL feel a kick, and the pellets WILL enter the body, but it's never enough to physically send your opponent flying through the air (especially if you're standing there unmoved).

What other gun myths would you like to see Kevin tackle?
