2006 DLF has been one of the rarest cricket series in you tube and one of the most awaited series among cricket fans all over the world.Only several very few clips of that series was available in you tube.
I myself had been dying to watch this series for a long long time and had been receiving requests from all over the world to upload anything of this rare series in you tube.
After getting so many cheers and heartiest welcomes from fans of all over the world after my first upload of this series(5th odi) in you tube i decided to up the whole series in you tube.
So here my 2nd upload of this series.
Hope you can enjoy!!
It was the game 6 of 2006 DLF cup odi tri series (Australia-india-West Indies)played in Malaysia. It had not been a good tournament for India since they were beaten by West indies in their very first match but India defeated West Indies in the previous match.
So India was keen to keep up their winning momentum in this series and it was also a do or die situation for India. If India lost they would be out of the tournament.
Australia won the toss and elected to bat first.Opener Matthew Hayden was highest scorer for Australia and he scored 54 runs.
Australian middle order were restricted to score runs freely and wickets kept falling in regular interval due to some tight and disciplined bowling by Indian bowlers.
Later Brad Haddin's 46 and Brad Hogg's 38 took Australian score beyond 200 and they were all out for 213 in 48.5 overs.
Traget was not too big to achieve but slow track and tough condition for batting toughened the task for India.
india lost both openers early and middle order went into extreme pressure by tremendous fast bowling display by Australian pacers specially Brett lee.
Dinesh Mongia's lone fight ended in vain as he found no one to support him.His 63* was the highest score among Indian batsmen.
As a result India were all out for just 193 runs in 43.5 overs and Australia became winner of the match by 18 runs.
Brett Lee bowled superb spell of his career 8.5-0-38-5 and became man of the match.
Enjoy this classic match.
Thank you.
